Filing a Fictitious Business Name

A Fictitious Business Name may be filed by mail, in person or through your local newspaper.

Fictitious Business Name filing forms are available online, at all office locations, and you may also request a form in writing.


File in Person

To ensure the name you intend to file is not already registered, search the Registry of Fictitious Business Names located at the County Clerk office nearest you. We also urge you to search any other sources available to you to be sure the name is not already in use.

Present a completed filing form, along with payment, at the customer counter. Two copies of the Statement will be returned to you.

The fee to register a Fictitious Business Name is $58.00 for the first business name and owner AND $2.00 for each additional business name at same address OR owner name.

You may file a Fictitious Business Name Statement at any of the Riverside County Clerk locations.

File by Mail

Complete an official Fictitious Business Name filing form in black ink.

The fee to register a Fictitious Business Name is $58.00 for the first business name and owner AND $2.00 for each additional business name at same address OR owner name.

Payment may be by check or Money Order payable to the Riverside County Clerk.

Send all completed forms, along with appropriate fees and a legal-sized self-addressed stamped envelope to:
