A Fictitious Business Name Statement Application may be submitted online, in person at our kiosk, by mail or through your local newspaper.
Fictitious Business Name Statement forms are available online, at all office locations, and you may also request a form in writing.
Prior to filing, the manner in which the business is being conducted must be determined pursuant to B&P 17913(b),(4),(e),(f).
File by Email
To verify the name you intend to file is not already registered, click here to search the Registry of Fictitious Business Names. We also urge you to search any other sources available to confirm the name is not already in use.
You must complete an application in order to file your Fictitious Business Name.
Once the application is completed and the order is placed, you will be instructed to download and print the completed application, print your name in section 5, and sign the form.
To pay the required fee, you will be instructed to copy or note your order number, click on the HEARTLAND link, and follow the prompts. The fee to register a Fictitious Business Name is $66.00 for the first business name and owner AND $2.00 for each additional business name at same address OR owner name.
After the payment has been completed, scan the completed form and email it to FBNWebRequests@asrclkrec.com noting your order number in the SUBJECT field.
You will receive communication by email if there are any issues and when the transaction has been completed.
An Affidavit of Identity is no longer required for the filing of a Fictitious Business Name Statement.

Complete the official Fictitious Business Name fillable pdf form and print in black ink.

Payment may be by check or Money Order payable to the Riverside County Clerk.
Send all completed forms, along with appropriate fees and a legal-sized self-addressed stamped envelope to:

If Filing as a Corporation, LLC or Limited Partnership
A registrant that is a corporation will require an original Certificate of Status issued by the Secretary of State certifying the current existence and good standing of that business entity. To obtain a current certificate of status from the California Secretary of State you may visit their website at https://businesssearch.sos.ca.gov/.
